Connie Tabor introduced
 Sue Hawkes
as our special
TRUNK SHOW GUEST.

Sue is from Pocatello and has only been quilting
from 2004.  She got a sewing/embroidery machine and
never looked back.  She jumped in with both feet.

This is the quilt she did learning how to use her
new sewing machine.  Then she got a 18" long arm.

This quilt was the first one she sewed, embroidered and
quilted all herself.  This one she took 1st in quilting.

This is green and pink quilt is a Lakehouse Pattern.
She made it for a bedroom in her daughter's new house
and had extra fabric and made matching pillows.

The is a blessing outfit.  She drew the dress out
on paper first and then made it.  The baby quilt
has the trapunto technique.  This was a new
category for the competition and she made
it just for the competition.  Sue doesn't even have a
granddaughter yet.

Close up of detail.

This cute pink and green she made in 2010.
This is a close up and the back of the quilt.

This is a Christmas quilt. Sue made this one in 2011.
There is a lot of bling bling and has a cording on the edge.

 Close Ups

This she made in the last two weeks.  The pattern was
on the Fons and Porter magazine.  She made it for her
daughter.

This is a cute Halloween wall quilt.
A Close up

She bought this one at an auction at
one of the quilt shows. It is a darling
three-dimensional quilt.

This is a cute pink Valentine Quilt. It is a
Shelly Design.

This was a Batik challenge quilt.  She got 1/3 of
a yard of four different batiks and she could add
up to four more colors.  This one is a Kim Diehl Design.

.
This is a Kim Diehl quilt.  Beautiful colors!

Another Kim Diehl pattern.
We all love her patterns!

This is a whole cloth quilt with the quilting defining the design.

 Kim Diehl's table runner pattern.

Thank You Sue for bring your beautiful quilts, etc.  What a big
job of getting them ready and packing them, unpacking, talking
about their stories and then packing them back up.  You do
gorgeous work that is inspiring for us to achieve.

The pictures don't show the beautiful detail.  You had
to be there to really appreciate her work. You probably
noticed all the ribbons on them.  She takes them to shows and
has won many national awards.
