JULY 2019 club meeting

Blackfoot Piecemakers Quilt club met
on July 25, 2019
at the Lutheran Church in Blackfoot
for our annual summer picnic and meeting

Kathryn Evans conducted the meeting
We began the meeting with our luncheon.

The meeting began with a fun club challenge:

This spring Kathryn handed out a piece of
cute "Ant Picnic" fabric.
The first person who got it tore it in half (kept one half) and passed the rest of the fabric down the row.   At a designated time the person who received the second half of fabric tore it in half
(keeping one half) and passing the
other along. Where it was torn in half multiple times. This continued until the halves
were about 4" x 6".
Then Kathryn informed the members that those who received fabric were to make an item to show at our July picnic.

Here are the items made:

Help me fill in the blanks -
Gloria Udy, ____________, Nancy Furniss, Lori Jarmin, Joyce Lewis,
Mary McCullough (not pictured), and ____________

Are we up for another challenge????
Here goes:

On each place setting at the table was a fat quarter.  Kathryn read a story. Every time she said the word "Picnic"  we passed our fabric to the right.  When the story was over, Kathryn challenged use the fat quarter and add up to 3 colors, then make something fun and nice. We will re-home it to a member at our Christmas party.
(I'm going to add more than 3 colors...but it's going to be adorable!  Sorry, Kathryn)
(BTW this is Lori....lol)

Oh yea, back to the meeting....
(I got a bit side tracked...)
Kathryn had put a number on each fat quarter and we received a prize that had the
coresponding  number on it!
Too much fun!!!

Here we are collecting our prize!

 Last but not least,
 Kathryn called 6 more numbers.....
She jokingly said these
ladies were now nominated to be our new president or vice president
next year.
Alice Elison, Joyce Brower, Marilyn Dedman, Daylene Herbert, Teri Peterson
and Marsha Hedges

(I'm not so sure she was joking!!!)

All joking aside....we really do need someone
to fill Kathryn's shoes.
She has done a great job being our president this last year.

The quilt on the left will be raffled off at the EISF in Sept.

The quilt on the right was donated to us by the late Eula Baldwin.
We sold tickets to club members and raffled it off at our meeting.

And the winner is:

Sharon Funk!!!
