CHRISTMAS PARTY

                                                                                                                                  Our Christmas party started with a welcome from the new President, Lori Jarmin. We then had our potluck before we got down to business! Lori made a presentation to our outgoing president, Alice Baumgartner.  She received a gift certificate from B & R Crafts.

The Christmas gift was a ruby beholder and a fat quarter.  Sign ups for next year were announced, including a class with Kim Diehl to be held January 9, 2014, Charity Day on February 13, 2014 and a Spinning Star class to be held March 13, 2014 given by member Connie Tabor.  A sign up sheet was sent around for the UFO Challenge due March 27, 2014.  Example of the Spinning Star                                                                         
                                                    Madge Lindsay announced those members that had made quilts or other items for  the Elizabeth Baskets and each received a fat quarter.  Those donating to this project for 2013 were:  Madge Lindsay, Nancy Furniss, Valarie Lemas, Margo  Fisher, Serena Yancey, Kelcie McClellan, Nan Harrison, Karen Price, Audrey  Eberhard, Julia Wareing, Diantha Hatch, Connie Tabor, Linda Watson,  LynnWilliams, Joyce Brower, Lorraine Troescher, and Dee Juana Dalley.  

A drawing was held for the quilt made from leftovers from the 2013 Raffle Quilt and was won by member Pat Goode from Pocatello.  Other items were won by lots of the members.

Our annual Christmas party will be held on December 5, 2013 at 11:00 am.  This will be a potluck for members with last names M - Z  bringing a favorite dish.  Be sure to bring your Christmas show and tell or any other you may have.  There will be sign ups for Kim Diehl's class in January and other classes scheduled for the coming year. A drawing will be held for the quilt made from leftover blocks from this years Raffle Quilt and other gifts.

PIECEMAKERS' MEETING

The meeting was started at 11:00 am with a potluck for all members and guests to enjoy.  The meeting was then turned over to Kim Diehl of Pocatello to show us some of the quilts she has made over the years.

Kim gave a brief history on how she got started in quilting about 15 years ago.  She now has had seven books published and has designed lines of fabric for Henry Glass Fabrics.  She also has had patterns published in quilting magazines including American Patchwork and Quilting, Fons and Porter and
Australian Quilters Companion Quilting Magazine.
