A vote was taken on the date of the Christmas party, and it will be
held on December 1st. at 11:00 am.
The club will provide a ham and side dishes will be brought by members with last names
starting with M - Z and board members.
Each member should bring a fat quarter for an exchange.
There will be a drawing for a quilt made from leftover fabrics from the raffle quilt and various other prizes.
The board will meet November 3rd at 10:00 am.
Candy welcomed and introduced our guest speaker, Mary Woods, former member. She now resides in Hamilton, Montana. She gave us a little history of her life and also her quilting endeavors! She moved to Blackfoot in 2005 and was encouraged to attend a Piecemakers' meeting by her friend Nan Harrison.
She soon became involved and before she knew it she was elected president when approached by Mary Nickell.
Our club has never been the same since she left us!!!
Now that she is quilting in Montana she has learned about a "Bed Turning" which is what they call a Trunk Show.
She brought quilts that show a little of her quilting history.

made with Wal Mart fabric. She used a sheet for the backing.

This quilt is an example of "math gone wrong".
Made in a class where piles of fabrics are split into
light, medium, and dark. Most of Mary's fabrics were medium,
so she split piles into cool and warm.
Mary said this is a camp quilt. She tends to use dark colors for her
backgrounds and also prints that have writing on them.

This quilt was made with fabric patches she got on vacations to the National Parks.

This quilt has many flying geese (picots) that make it harder to quilt
because they have to be pinned out of the way to quilt under them.
