PIECEMAKERS' QUILT CLUB

President Lori Jarmin started the meeting by introducing the winner
of our 2014 Raffle Quilt, Marsha Maharry from Rexburg.

She then presented a $4000 check to Pam Beus for the
Meals on Wheels program in Blackfoot. The money was earned
from selling tickets on the raffle quilt.

Elections for new and returning board members was held.
The following will be the new board for next year:

President:  Lori Jarmin
Vice President:  Madge Lindsay
Secretary:  Mary Hege
Treasurer:  Alice Baumgartner
Membership:  Candy High
Blog:  Audrey Eberhard and Diantha Hatch
Library:  Editha VanOrden and Julie Martin
Friendship Blocks:  Valerie Lemas and Karen Price

Lori reminded the board members that a meeting would be held on
October the 2nd at Connie Tabor's house at 10:00 a.m.
to plan the calendar for next year.

Madge Lindsay presented the block of the month "Colorado".

Madge Lindsay introduced her daughter from Rexburg, Lori Robertson. She grew up in Blackfoot and learned to sew in the 4-H program.  She has been using Leaders and Enders for her sewing projects with great success.  It is a technique used  by quilter Bonnie K. Hunter in her book "Adventures with Leaders and Enders".

Lori says, "I can't throw anything away" and usually ends up with scraps from everyone.  She does say that she doesn't keep anything less than an inch.

She showed many examples of her different quilts:

A thank you to Joyce Brower for organizing the raffle quilt sales
and scheduling the members to work at the fair.
