Blackfoot Piecemakers Club Meeting
January 22, 2026 at the new location
Blackfoot Christian Fellowship Church on Rose Road
Serena introduced the different learning and activities we will be able to enjoy!!
Educational Chair - Linda Dance
Madge Lindsay did the Education for January. She told us that we should not put our quilt in the bathtub to wash them. This can put added stress on the stitching by wringing it out. We can put our quilt in the washing machine with warm water, small amount of mild detergent and gentle cycle. There was a question about if the quilt colors bleed. You can put a color catcher in the washer. If you do have some bleeding, you can put on synthropol on the area that has the miss color and let it sit and then wash again. Dry your quilt in the dryer, or you can line dry, drape over several lines. This step can be repeated. She also suggests for the quilts you are storing, wash them every five years, to keep it from yellowing. You shouldn't wash you quilt more than two times a year. A quilt should last 50 years.
QUILT BOUTIQUE
At the March meeting we will be able to have a quilt boutique. You can let Serena know if you want a table or 1/2 a table. You will be able to sell anything you want, it doesn't have to be quilt related. You will be responsible for your money/change.
