August 25, 2011 Meeting
Our shop hop will be on Friday, September 30th.
We leave at 8:30 a.m. and return ??!!
We will be going to The Quilt Barn in Kimberly and then
The Gathering Place in Rupert
and Sages Creek on the way home if there is time.
Bring a sack lunch and we will
stop at Shoshone Falls for a picnic, if the weather cooperates.
Let Julia know if you plan on going and if you can drive.
It was decided that Connie would order all 5 of the
Nickel Books for the library. We had a door prize drawing,
Diantha Hatch won a Log Cabin quilting book and
DeeJuana Dalley won a Fons & Porter book.

Brenda was raised in Rock Springs, Wyoming.
She later moved to Pingree and was married 9 days later.
She has 4 children and 11 grandchildren.

| Joyce Shoemaker displayed this gorgeous quilt which they are selling tickets to raise money for the Heritage Museum. When the museum opens they will display new and old quilts. Lynn Echo saw this 1800 pattern and sketched it out and Lynn Saul drafted it out and a group effort sewed the blocks together. Joyce designed the applique border and it was quilted by Shelley Day. The fundraiser event will take place at the Elk's Lodge in Idaho Falls on September 24th. |

| Editha Van Orden and Barb Tatum gave a presentation on what books are in the library. You must have your card to check out the books. You can check out up to three books and should not keep them longer than 2 months. There is a late fee of $1.00 per month. |

| Connie Tabor talked about entering quilts in the fair. They will accept quilts on Friday 8-26 from 12:00-8:00 and Saturday 8-27 from 10:00-8:00 at the Needlecraft building. She said not to take it so serious and to enter your quilts. There will be quilt related demostrations on Tues. and Thursday all day in the Needlecraft building during the week of the fair. A quilt walk will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday the week of the fair. See you there! |
