Lori Jarmin, president, made the following anncouncements:
October 1, 2015 Board meeting at 10:00 am at the Lutheran Church
October 15, 2015 Our October meeting ( note this is on the 3rd Thursday, not the 4th Thursday). Our guest speakers will be sisters Terry Anderson and Dawn Ramirez. Their theme will be "Change It Up". They will be doing a trunk show of many of their quilts.
December 3, 2015 This will be our annual Christmas party and potluck at 11:00am.
Those members with last names M - Z will bring a salad or dessert.
Membership dues will be collected in the next few months. The dues are $10.00 and are
good through October 2015 - 2016.
The president thanked Joyce Brower for organizing the raffle ticket sales
again this year.
Chuck Lanter of Blackfoot was the recipient of the raffle quilt this year. He told how Joyce approached him at the "husband chair section" and convinced him that if he bought 6 tickets for $5.00 his odds of winning the quilt would be better!
The check of $3200 was presented to Pam Beus from the Blackfoot Senior Center for Meals on Wheels.

at the Eastern Idaho State Fair. Editha was happy to share her recipe with us.
SWEDISH SUGAR COOKIES – GRAND PRIZE
WINNER
AT THE EASTERN IDAHO STATE FAIR - 2015
1 cup sugar
5 cups flour, sifted
2 tsp. baking powder
1 ½ cups butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla (or ½ tsp. almond
extract, ½ tsp. vanilla,
or lemon flavoring
can be used)
Mix sugar and butter until
blended. Add egg and beat until blended
and then add vanilla. Mix baking powder and flour together. Add the
first 4 cups of flour and then if you
need more, you can add more gradually.
Chill mixture for 1 – 2 hours in the
refrigerator. Roll out dough
approximately ¼ - ½ inch thick,
rolling dough using powdered sugar
instead of flour. Cut dough with a cookie cutter, arranging
shapes on a
cookie sheet. Use parchment paper if possible.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10
minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
Recipe makes 2 dozen.

A thank you note was sent from the Eastern Idaho State Fair thanking us for our $50.00 donation. A $10.00 amount was given to the following people:
Delis Orr, Scarlett Atkins, Julia Wareing, Nancy Furniss and Joan Farnworth.
All were members except Joan, and she is a former member.

This block will require sewing partial seams which was explained by Doris.

Karen Price announced that Martie Nowell, former member of our club, won the Quilt Heritage Museum quilt that was displayed at the Eastern Idaho State Fair in the Arts and Craft building.
