CHRISTMAS PARTY

President Candy High welcomed everyone to the Christmas Party.
Members waiting for the feast.
Decorations for the tables were done by Jean Korth and Sandra Shelley

Lori Jarmin taking Joyce Brower's place and handing out packets of
tickets earned by making blocks for the raffle quilt, selling or
buying raffle tickets, or selling tickets at the fair.

After the potluck was enjoyed by all,
Candy High read a Christmas story.

Candy announced that the club had bought this Lori Holt book for our library.
She reminded everyone that they needed to check out library books
from the librarians Editha VanOrden and Julie Martin.

Several quilt tops using the blocks from our last Block of the Month
show different settings that were used:
This quilt top finished by Lori Jarmin show using a log cabin block setting.

This quilt top belongs to Candy High.  It was named "Weird Quilt".

Candy High announced that the club is going to do a mystery quilt
with the Stitch and Giggle Quilt Club.  It will be a row quilt and
patterns will be available every month.

This mystery quilt made by Candy was done in 2000.

Lori Jarmin talked about our Charity Day scheduled for January 14th.
She said if we wanted to get together with our friends, we could do
some pre-planning to decide what we wanted to make, ie. pick a pattern,
decide fabric choices, who will do the cutting and sewing.
This will give you a chance to start in as soon as you arrive on that day.
There will be a trophy given.

Lori showed a pattern for a table runner.  Candy made it using techniques
that will be taught in upcoming classes.
Signups will be at the January meeting

Lori read a card from Joyce Brower thanking everyone for all the
help she got at the fair this year.

Prizes were given out to the following members for the most tickets sold:
Peggy Wareing, - left - sold 3 packets,
Nancy Furniss - center - sold 5 packets, and Margo Fisher - right - sold
4 packets.  Gift bags were from Joyce Brower.

These members have volunteered to be the committee to plan the next
Raffle Quilt.  Lynda Sponenburgh, Alice Baumgartner
and Brenda Anderson (chairperson).

Quilts were made with the leftover blocks from this years raffle quilt.
Madge Lindsay put these blocks together and quilted it.
The winner of this quilt is Joyce Brower!  She was not able to attend
the Christmas party so she will receive it when she is back
from taking care of her grandchildren in Wyoming.

This quilt was put together and quilted by Connie Tabor.
The winner of this quilt was Lori Jarmin!

Piecemaker's gift this year to the members is a packet of iron cleaner sheets.
Lori explained how to use them.  Written instructions are included in the packet.
