JANUARY MEETING



Candy High welcomed everyone and announced that a handout was available at the sign in desk with the 2016 schedule for classes and meetings, an updated membership list and a list of officers for the club.

Diantha Hatch introduced her sister - in - law from Oregon, Sally Clark.

Diantha Hatch and Lori Jarmin showed examples of the tablerunner class that will be held on February 11th.  They are recommending that a majority of the prep work be done before class so the projects can be completed that day.  Class set up will be at 9:00 am and class will start at 9:30 am.



Other classes are as following:

March 10 - Class taught by Bev Hindman on Color, Contrast and Values.
This is the block that will be used in the color class.


April 14 - Buggy Barn Block Class
 Taught by Candy High

May 12 - Bag Class by Valerie Lemas using Steam A Seam

Lynda Sponenburgh won the prize for being the first to e-mail that she had been on the blog after the Christmas Party and noticed a strange man holding a fish!

Absent was Brenda Anderson (committee head) due to an illness in her family.

Patterns are available at the membership desk.

Other blocks shown - sizes of the blocks are 6 inch, 9 inch and 12 inch.
Members are asked to take some of the patterns. Blocks will be due in March.
1930's reproduction prints are to be used. Only white, or white on white fabrics are to be used as the background fabric.  Members should use  scant 1/4 inch seams, pressing seams open and don't trim blocks before turning in to the committee.

Diantha Hatch showed a quilt that she made in the 90's in a class taught by 
Shirley Wilson called "Stack and Slash".  It can be made with any size block.
She used light, medium and dark fabrics cut 10 inches.

Diantha shows how she slashed the blocks and then sewed them back together.

one for herself!  Made with very, very small yo - yo'.s
