Here is the recipe for Serena's Date Balls:

1 1/2 c. sugar
2 c. dates, chopped
2 Tbsp. milk
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp salt
4 c. rice crispy cereal
1 c. coconut
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 tsp vanilla
Melt butter, add sugar and stir until dissolved. Add dates and cook
until it leaves the sides of the pan when stirred. Remove from head and
add eggs, milk, and salt. Stir quickly so that egg doesn't cook. Then
return to stove and cook 2 minutes. add the rest of ingredients. Mix
well. Drop by spoonfuls and roll in more coconut (it takes a package of
coconut). Makes approx. 75 balls.

The remaining blocks were used to make the beautiful raffle items. |
