CHRISTMAS PARTY

December 1, 2016
Blackfoot Piecemaker's met for our annual Christmas Party.

We will meet again in January for our Charity Day. Held on January14 at 9:00 am.
At the Lutheran church.
Bring fabric, machines, ideas for quilting a charity quilt.
Lunch will be provided.

Our January meeting will be held on the 28th at 1:00 pm.

Here is the recipe for Serena's Date Balls:
1 1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 c. dates, chopped
2 Tbsp. milk
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp salt
4 c. rice crispy cereal
1 c. coconut
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 tsp vanilla
Melt butter, add sugar and stir until dissolved.  Add dates and cook until it leaves the sides of the pan when stirred. Remove from head and add eggs, milk, and salt.  Stir quickly so that egg doesn't cook.  Then return to stove and cook 2 minutes.  add the rest of ingredients. Mix well. Drop by spoonfuls and roll in more coconut (it takes a package of coconut). Makes approx. 75 balls.

Kathryn Evans conducted the meeting.

Great food. Wonderful company.
After the luncheon we held a raffle.  Joyce Brower, (not attending) had the tickets and prizes ready. Members earned the tickets by making quilt blocks, selling raffle tickets and helping with the construction of the charity/raffle quilt. The remaining blocks were used to make the beautiful raffle items.
Rita Harris (our Raffle/Charity quilt assistant) oversaw the drawing for the quilt, table runner, table topper, and potholder.
Lorraine Troescher was the lucky winner of the beautiful quilt!

Susan Plant's ticket was picked for the table topper.

Peggy Wareing's lucky ticket was chosen for the table runner.

Other winners! Sally Strawn-embroidery CD. Nancy Furniss, Janey Cook, Valarie Lemas, and Lori Jarmin-potholders.

After eating, we had fun exchanging fat quarters.
Then Madge started out with the first item for Show &Tell.

Madge Lindsay's quilt was made with the 2015 block of the month patterns.

These are blocks she collected from the Idaho Falls quilt guild.
