APRIL 27, 2023 Club Meeting

 Blackfoot Piecemaker's Quilt Club

held on April 27, 2023

at our new facility, the

Methodist Church in Blackfoot ID

         Kathryn Evans conducted the meeting

These ladies were selling raffle ticket in honor of the late Bev Hindman.  This is the letter that we received about their cause:

P.E.O. Chapter CM Fundraiser Raffle of Beverly Hindman Quilts

Beverly Hindman was an active member of P.E.O., joining Chapter CM, Idaho Falls, in 2012. She was a P.E.O. officer and served on several committees, and also presented programs on quilting. She entered Chapter Eternal on September 12, 2022 at the age of 84.

Bev was known for her talent as a quilter and instructor, evidenced by the many award-winning quilts she designed and constructed. Bev taught quilting classes through adult education and made many friends through a shared passion for fabric arts. As a recognized quilt expert, Bev served as a judge, as well as instructor for Quilting in the Tetons and many other quilt shows and state fairs throughout the North West.

She spent her final years as a resident of Lincoln Court, during which her loving P.E.O. sister, Jaynie Bell, provided much needed personal attention and assistance. In gratitude for her kindness, Bev’s family gifted some of her quilts to Jaynie. Jaynie thought what better way to honor Bev’s legacy than to put those works of love and art towards P.E.O. projects to lift women in their educational pursuits.

Today, we’re presenting you with 4 quilted items that are being raffled off separately towards that cause. Each quilted item is numbered 1 through 4, and you can buy as many raffle tickets as your heart desires to put towards the items of your choice. Tickets are 1 for $10 or 3 for $25, with payment in cash or check accepted; please make checks out to P.E.O. Chapter CM. We ask that you put your name, Chapter, phone number, and the desired quilted item number on the back of each ticket (one number per ticket), so that we can contact the winners. The drawing will be held at Chapter CM’s business meeting on June 2, 2023, and winners will be contacted immediately afterwards.

This fundraiser is also open to the public, so if you know of others that might be interested in buying tickets, please put them in touch with the Chapter CM representatives below.

Each ticket sold goes towards supporting women in furthering their education. And, just like Bev’s quilts, the end product will be significantly greater than the individual pieces.

Additional tickets are available for purchase by May 31, by contacting any of the following Chapter CM representatives: Jaynie Bell – 208-520-8969 Diane Croson – 208-521-4134 Andrea Hoffman – 208-521-0189 Sharon James – 208-604-0587 Dionne Sentieri – 208-680-2604 Thank you for your time and consideration

Christmas Quilt Giveaway

Every Christmas we make a quilt out of the extra quilt blocks from our raffle quilt.  This year Jolene Secrist is asking us to bring blocks of any size.  They just need to be muted, earth tones.  Like Kansas troubles, Kim Diehl, Civil War..... just not bright colors.  They are due at June meeting.  She will use these blocks to make the quilt we give away at Christmas.

We made these Friendship blocks for Ann Faulkner.
