Our Christmas party was started with a welcome from President Lori Jarmin. A few announcements were made about upcoming classes. Charity Day will be the 2nd Thursday in January (8th), 9:00 am - 3:00 p.m.
Lunch will be provided by the club.
A potluck was held with ham donated by the club and members bringing sides, salads and desserts.
Connie Tabor talked about her visit to the Humanitarian Center in Idaho Falls,
next to Office Max (the old Rite Aid building), near Fred Meyers. They will be happy to take donations of fabric and almost anything else! They especially need twin size quilts. They are open on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm.
Drawings for the raffle items were then held. Those that helped on the raffle quilt by making blocks, selling tickets during the fair, buying tickets and helping make the quilts from the leftover blocks had tickets in the drawing.
The winner of this quilt (quilted by Connie Tabor) was Alice Baumgarter, who was one of the members in charge of making this quilt along with Mary Woods and Madge Lindsay. Shown left to right: Garnalee Harrington, drawing tickets, Joyce Brower, ticket sales co-ordinator, Connie Tabor and Lori Jarmin.
The other quilt made from the leftover blocks was won by Betty Watt, who was unable to attend due to illness.
An ironing table was raffled and won by Peggy Wareing.
Other winners of a pressing stick made by Alice Baumgartner were:
Lorraine Troescher, Julia Wareing and Audrey Eberhard.
A fat quarter exchange was held by listening to a story about Mr. & Mrs.
Right. Each table did their own exchange and a fun time was had by all.

Piecemakers' Christmas Gift explained!
Holder for rotary cutter or whatever, coupon for a future
class and laminated numbers to be used as row markers or for blocks to keep them from getting mixed up!
Lori Jarmin and Alice Baumgartner(hiding) do a skit on how much work
a quilter can get done with 4 hands.
Too bad we don't have a video because it was hilarious.
Lori and Alice treat us to their version of "Jingle Quilts"
JINGLE QUILTS
(Tune: Jingle Bells)
Dashing through the store
With five days left to go.
I must get home real soon,
There’s 10 things left to sew.
The line is much too long,
But I guess I shouldn’t frown;
At least this gives my credit card
Some time for cooling down.
(Chorus – sing twice)
Jingle bells, jingle bells,
Quilting all the way,
Oh, what fun it is to stitch
A project every day.
The Christmas tree’s not trimmed,
It must go up today.
But the quilting is not done
And the frames are in the way.
The time is getting short,
The dolly needs a dress.
With fabric, lace and pins and stuff,
Everything’s a mess.
(Repeat the chorus)
The Newsletter came today.
There’s a quilt I want to try.
I’ve got so much to do,
I think I’m going to cry.
But Suzie needs a quilt
For her new trundle bed
I think I’ll make it blue and white
With just a little red.
(Repeat the chorus)
But the pillows are not stuffed.
The place mats need a hem.
I’ve made myself a pledge,
I’ll not do this again.
There’s fabric right and left.
I can’t resist these two.
Oh well, I think I’ll take some time
And just pick up a few.
(Repeat the chorus).

As sung at the guild Christmas party.
Christmas parties are my favorite. Never miss any of them organized by my dear ones. My best friend always wanted to have it at some home studios NYC as looking for a different theme and location. This time we will book one of them for our pleasurable celebration.
