BLACKFOOT PIECEMAKERS' QUILT CLUB

President Lori Jarmin started the meeting with a  thank you note from
Pam Beus, for the raffle quilt donation made last month to
Blackfoot Meals on Wheels.
Also sending a thank you was Marsha Maharry of Rexburg in appreciation
for the raffle quilt that she won and Suzanne Cowgill, thanking the club for
the money she was awarded for her quilt at the Eastern Idaho State Fair.
The award was given by the Needle Arts Superintendent, Connie Tabor.

On a sad note, Lori announced that longtime member ZZ Gilmore had passed away Sunday October 19th at the age of 90 in Pocatello.  She would have been 91 on her birthday October 24, 2014. She taught us how to ruch flowers and she made many beautiful quilts.  In spite of her failing eyesight she was able to continue to quilt till the end making approximately 400 quilts.   She had been a member of the Piecemakers' since 1991.

Zelma Ziegler Gilmore - more fondly known as Z.Z.

The next meeting we have is our Christmas party on December 4th at 11:00 am with the members last names from A - L,  plus board members will bring either a salad or dessert.  The club will furnish the ham.  Everyone is to bring a fat quarter for an exchange.  Those members that participated in the raffle quilt by either selling tickets, making blocks or working at the fair will receive tickets at the party to go into a drawing for the quilt from leftover blocks and other items .

Lori asked Lorraine Troescher to tell us about herself for our "getting to know you" segment.  She is originally from Des Moines, Iowa.  She has moved all over the country with her family.  She now lives in Pocatello and worked in
Blackfoot at FedEx since 1985 and retired several years ago.
She has three sons,5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
She has been a member of Piecemakers since 1992.
