March Meeting

The March meeting was conducted by Connie Tabor while President Lori Jarmin enjoyed some time off with her family.


The announcements for this month were:

QUILTFEST - This weekend at the Blackfoot High School on March 27th and 28th.  The fee to attend is $2.00.  This includes a trunk show, quilt show and vendors.

HMQS - Home Machine Quilt Show in Salt Lake City, May 7th - 9th.  More information is on their website - www.hmqs.org

APRIL CLASS - April 9th - Taught by Madge Lindsay and Connie Tabor - on applique and ruching - set up will be at 9:00 am and class to start promptly at 9:30 am.

Joyce Brower presented the Block of the Month called Underground Railroad or Jacob's Ladder.

Candy High - presented a demonstration on her small display board or ironing board.  It is made from Rigid Insulation material available at Home Depot.
She said the sizes were either 2x4 ft. or 4x8 ft.  She used cotton batting and then covered with a canvas that was stapled on to attach.

Candy shows how you can put a design on the board with 
freezer paper in the shape of the design you are working on.

THE PHD (PROJECTS HALF DONE) PROGRAM HAS WORKED REALLY WELL AND HAS HELPED MANY OF US TO FINISH INCOMPLETE PROJECTS.  STARTING THIS MONTH, WE WILL HAVE SIGN-UPS FOR THE COMING YEAR AND ENDING MARCH 24, 2016.  YOU HAVE UNTIL MAY 28, 2015 TO SIGN UP.  IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANY UNFINISHED PROJECTS YOU CAN STILL SIGN UP WITH PROJECTS YOU WANT TO START AND COMPLETE.
