Sandra Shelley introduced Janeil Albertson from Blackfoot, Nancy Furniss introduced friend Colene Meusborn from Pocatello, Vee Gibson, her grandaughter Carlee, and Judy Kirkham, her granddaughter Eden.

Birthdays for September are Joyce Lewis, Serena Yancey and Janey Cook.

For the September meeting we are to bring our antique quilts to show
and have election of officers.
There will be no board meeting in September.
The 6 1/2 inch batik fabric exchange will be due next month.
All participating members will need to bring 18 squares in a ziploc bag.

Connie Tabor, Needlecraft and Home Arts Supervisor for the Eastern Idaho State fair reminded everyone that the entries are due August 26, and 27th. from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm.  Connie's annual "Walk Through" will be held Wednesday, September 7th at 10:30 am.  Most of the quilt demos will be on Tuesday the 6th. Mary McCullough and Margaret Peterson will be doing a demo on wool quilting and Connie will be doing one on long arm quilting.  For more information check the website at www.funatthefair.com.

Our raffle quilt was displayed so the Morning News photographer
could take a picture for the paper.
Proceeds will be going to Blackfoot Meals on Wheels program.

Candy did a demo on sewing with bias edges and talked about fabric grain.  She used the monkey wrench pattern to explain how to do half square and quarter square triangles without cutting on the bias.
"Sew on the bias is GOOD, Cut on the bias is BAD."
Patterns are available on your e-mail that was sent out by Candy.
